The Chicago Tribune did a great story on the controversy over whether Gleason 6 should be considered cancer: https://bit.ly/3MhwX6t (Sorry, paywall.)
Then, I get a call from Lauren Petty, health reporter for NBC Channel 5, who said, “You’re a star” and invited me to appear on her story about the proposed change in my so-called cancer to a non-cancer. It was a 15-minute interview. I’ll get my 15 seconds at 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Central tonight, April 20.
(I told Lauren I have always been a star.)

Lauren asked all the right questions. She is a grad of Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University (Go Cats.) so that’s no surprise. (No, she was not one of my students.)
She has to squeeze in interviews with Dr. Scott Eggener, of U Chicago, my co-author of an article that appeared in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, on this topic, and Dr. William Catalona, the famed surgeon at Northwestern (Go Cats), who took the other side.
(Cimone takes a watchful eye on the proceedings)
So the issue is finally getting an airing.
I am running a survey on whether Gleason 6 should be relabeled as a noncancer.
Urgent: I’d like you to share your opinion in the comments and answer the survey: “Should the cancer label be removed from Gleason 6?”: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZQHDQYK.

Good work Howard! When might you have a link to the actual interview? It would be interesting to watch.
This is great - and congrats. Thanks, Howard, for accelerating progress on this critical issue.
