This column runs on Substack. Apparently, they had a tech glitch that sent out the column twice. Sorry about that, This is beyond my control. You can ignore one. But please read the other. Howard

In January 2019, I had just finished a 20 month journey to lose 25 pounds and thought my physical would include all kinds of attaboys. Instead, the call came that my PSA had spiked and I should see a urologist immediately. A Facebook post and a couple days later folks all over the world were praying for a good outcome. The prayers were answered with a Gleason 6. Lots of reading and discussions later, and support from the Ancan team, when people ask how I am doing, my answer is that God is good plus a sermon on how we all need to take charge of our own healthcare and not merely follow any doctor's prescription. Howard - Thanks for all you are doing to spread the word and educate men on their prostate cancer options.

My immediate reaction to this reiteration of your column is to ask myself what words or catch-all phrases I might best use to capture audience's attention during local lectures which do not first emphacise importance of AS, esearch clearly indicating time available to all with exception of few.

Steve, Thanks. Got a response in LikedIn. Dr. called Gleason 6 a "bogus' cancer. Dr. Klotz calls it a "fake cancer." I've used "faux." Any other idea? I have an article coming out with some docs who want to re-label Glleason 6 as a non-cancer. Howard

Diagnosis of PC does propel many people into a better mode of self-awareness in relation to health issues. Although I had made many dietary changes well before my diagnosis, and physical activity had always played a very significant role in my life, the AC diagnosis reinforced my conduct and my decisions. And it helped me to successfully encourage friends diagnosed with PC to make changes in their lives--probably ensuring a healthier (and perhaps longer) life than their previous course had them on.
