Editor’s note: Many of you already know Keith Holden, MD, an internist and also a fellow prostate cancer patient, through his Substack Prostate Cancer Secrets.
You are a superlative resource for men and prostates. Men, because we don't think alike and need to conform to AS protocols and procedures as you advocate and educate us about. Prostates, because they don't think, begin to malfunction after 50, and we have to take care of this organ before it literally "backfires", pun intended. Thusly, you and men's educational forums such as ASPI allow men, families, and doctors to think in concert about PCa. I predict that genetics testing will play an initial role in diagnosis of PCa and be added as a primary test and tool for AS monitoring. PCa patients also need motivation about reliable exercise and Food such as the UCSF lifestyle research a la Dr June Chan or Dr Donald Abrams of UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Medicine. Finally, sometimes the luck of the draw on which urologist you get influences your future health, thusly second opinions matter.

Simply a note to compliment you on the active surveillor newsletters. I found that this one provided a lot of good info. I shared with men that I know who are following an active surveillance protocol
Thanks, Geoff.
Thanks for what you do at ASPI for this scrappy community.
